Back in the late eighties, I had a job offer in Denver, CO. After the interview, having taken my wife and then 3 year-old son with me, we took a day trip to Vale for a summer hike. Absolutely beautiful, but after some thought, having grown up in New England, I found I just couldn't live more than a hour two drive from the ocean!
