As you may know I currently live in las vegas. Lived here twice, first time move here in 2008, was a huge poker buff and wanted to I guess play to become more professional. I stuck with poker for a couple years, never achieving the type of poker I wanted. Still love the sport, just don't play it much anymore. Had to move back to st.louis where I am from to help take care of my health ridden parents in 2017. They both passed away early 2020. I decided near summertime to move back to las vegas, move back oct 2020 and been here since. Vegas has really change since I left in 2017 and it not the same vegas I was use to, to me vegas has change in a not so nice friendly good way, too pricey in enjoyment, too much riffraff, too much overall bad mojo. Not saying vegas is a horrible place to come, there is still lots to do and the scenery unbelieveable. Great hiking areas all around and close enough to the pacific ocean and the grand canyon. Where else can you find a restaurant open at 5 am or a dive bar to have a nice cold one. Mostly sunny days and once summer is lifted the temps are ideal. I have no idea how much longer I will stay in vegas but if I do move sometime soon, it will probably be the northwest where green is my favorite color

It's probably similar in many popular places. A nice place to visit, but not as nice to live in full time. Dublin is like that too, I lived 9 miles outside Dublin City centre for 25years. Dublin is a place I dread going to now as traffic is crazy compared to where I am living now.

I suggest if anybody comes to vegas, you should also check out henderson NV, summerlin NV, the red rock canyon area, the west rim of the grand canyon or even the south rim, mt.charleston, valley of fire national park, zion UT, the hoover dam and take a drive west on hwy 215 (it loops around the western outer layer of las vegas). Also the mob museum, neon museum, the haunted museum, container park downtown las vegas, the arts district, area 15 (if you like trippy artwork and escape rooms) and even sams town off of boulder hwy. There is so much more, even i haven't done everything mentioned but will before I do move away. Oh and make sure you go to chinatown, if you love asian food, some of the best. Vegas is well known for steaks so one place I recommend is the golden steer right near and close by the sahara hotel. And lastly, a cool park to go to is exploration park southwest in las vegas, they have a very nice park with green grass and a moderately easy
mountain next to it to climb, once at the top you can see most of las vegas including the entire las vegas strip. For me if you aren't into the pools or even the pool parties, best to come late fall, late winter and spring. Summertime can get really hot here from much of June to early Oct.

Lived in Las Vegas in 2009; moved to Arizona in 2020. I agree with you. Las Vegas changed a lot.
