Many folks say the best childhood to live was the the time before the internet and mobile phones (with internet).

Why?

Back then your social media was hanging out with your friends face to face, exploring the outdoors, staying out till the street lights came on. Parents weren't as strict as now, plus back then it was safer both in reality and perception to be a kid. Nobody was kidnapped, nobody was being karens and richards. But kids did listen to their parents as well, they weren't disobedient like they are today.

Kids would drink from a water hose, play on the playground where today's standards no way were those playgrounds ever be safe. Most kids were skinny too since they didn't sit around all day looking at some screen or texting.

I was a kid back then. I remember we played football, dodgeball, 4 square, frisbee, build ramps for our bikes and did lots of jumps, went hunting for frogs, summertime stood next to an exploding fire hydrant, went on various bike adventures, rode in the back of the station wagon, even had hair down past my ears (sometimes it was hard to tell who were boys and who were girls). Even the music jammed, rock and roll.

The internet and phones screw everything.
